Art Therapy

Art Therapy

Art therapy uses simple art activities to help people express themselves and can help reduce the stress of living with cancer. Our art therapist will help find the right creative outlet for you, which may include painting, manipulating clay, drawing, writing, assembling a collage or making jewelry.

Art therapy is proving itself to be an effective intervention in stress reduction, enhancing perceptions of wellness, and can be helpful for people who feel uncomfortable with touch or talk therapies. Art therapy can be particularly beneficial during long treatment sessions and when diagnoses and treatment plans feel overwhelming.

Email our art therapist Megan Carleton at mcarleton@partners.org or contact your nurse to schedule a session Mon – Thurs.
